![]() Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche is the perfect base for a city break, it has great design, an amazing location and affordable rates. Fairground in the Tuileries Gardens Who Should Stay Here? However the Latin Quarter is a lively area and there are plenty of other options if you just have a wander around. To eat and drink nearby I recommend Les Papilles for exquisite food and Le Rostand which has everything you could want from a Paris bar. Nearby attractions are the Sorbonne, Notre Dame and the Luxembourg Gardens, there’s also a Batobus stop nearby where you can purchase a ticket for the hop on/off river bus on the Seine, a must-do in Paris to see the sights from the water. So unless you’re sleeping or enjoying the view from the balcony, get out and get amongst the action in the evening and cram as many sights and restaurant visits in during the day! Making Use Of The Balcony Hotel Balcony From Top Left: Luxembourg Gardens, Sorbonne, Notre Dame, The Seinne What to do Nearby? I’ve been there twice now and still have so many more things to see. That being said, if there’s anywhere in the world you really shouldn’t be spending too much time in your hotel room, it’s Paris. The Trianon Rive Gauche is located in an older style building so while the room is just big enough for two, with luggage it’s definitely a Paris sized hotel room, which are typically on the small side. Our room also had French doors that opened up onto a small balcony with tables and chairs, this was lovely and meant you could also have an al fresco breakfast, if you so chose or just get some fresh air into the room. There is free wifi, toiletries and use of a hairdryer available. The shower worked well according to my travel companion (due to my immensely clumsy tendencies I had sprained my ankle at that point and decided dicing with death in a shower wasn’t the best plan for someone with such poor hand eye/foot coordination)! The bathroom is simple, white and also very clean. The bed and pillows were lovely and comfortable and the rooms extremely clean. The stylish bedrooms are themed red, brown and white, with fabric covered walls, soft carpeting and crisp white bed linen. We had a room with a balcony which I strongly suggest you opt for when you book as well. The Trianon Rive Gauche has eight floors, linked by a staircase that wraps itself around the retro cage-style lift. I must say, this was the best breakfast we had in any hotel in Paris. You can also choose to have a continental breakfast in your room. This is definitely a fabulous hotel for those who value a wider selection of breakfast dishes as many Paris hotels only have a small selection. To drink there is tea, coffee and water and you can also squeeze your own orange juice, a novelty that never gets old for me! There are also crepes and cereals such as muesli. Choices are eggs, bacon, sausages, fruits, cheeses, cured meats, pastries, fresh breads and yoghurts. There is a buffet with a massive amount of choice to cater to even the pickiest eater. I liked that the tables weren’t too close together so you can get some privacy. The breakfast room is decorated in a similar opulent fashion to the lobby with crystal chandeliers and huge black vases full of flowers. Once you’re inside the hotel lobby you can see this hotel is a glamorous and flashy affair. I found myself within walking distance of some of the top Paris attractions: The Sorbonne, Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame and the Louvre, were all only 5-10 minutes walk away. The Trianon Rive Gauche hotel is a four star hotel, perfect for those wanting to visit some of the most famous locations on the left bank. I recommend changing hotels and areas at least once during your stay. When you visit Paris for the first time you will probably want to tick off all the mainstream attractions. On our second day in Paris we moved from the Pigalle area to the Latin Quarter. Affordable Luxury at Trianon Rive Gauche Hotel Paris
